Texas A&M Golfers in 10th after Two Rounds in California

The Texas A&M men's golf team sits in a tie for 10th place on the leaderboard at the Gifford Collegiate following the event's second round on Tuesday.

Carlsbad, Calif. – The Texas A&M men's golf team sits in a tie for 10th place on the leaderboard at the Gifford Collegiate following the event's second round on Tuesday.

"We had a good front nine to put us in great shape but then played about as bad as you can play on the back," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "All our guys started to press which led to poor play that really hurt us. Now we're in a tough spot and really have to play great tomorrow for us to have a decent showing."

Washington tops the team standings at eight-under par after 36 holes of competition while the Aggies (292-299=591) sit at 23-over.

Seniors Adria Arnaus (75=72=147, +5) and Ben Crancer (72-75=147, +5) stand out as the highest-ranking Texas A&M golfers on the individual standings with a share of 33rd place. Overall, the 81-player field is led by Corey Pereira (69-68=137, -5) of Washington.

The tournament concludes Wednesday morning with a final 18 holes on La Costa Legends Course. The Aggies will be paired alongside golfers from Harvard and Marquette and begin teeing off at 10:15 a.m. (CT).
