Women’s Basketball Promotions: Good Luck Charms On Friday The 13th; Military Appreciation And Coat Drive Sunday

COLLEGE STATION- No. 13 Texas A&M women's basketball kicks off its season this weekend with games Friday and Sunday against Texas State and Southern with several promotions in store for each game.

COLLEGE STATION- No. 13 Texas A&M women's basketball kicks off its season this weekend with games Friday and Sunday against Texas State and Southern with several promotions in store for each game.

The home opener against Texas State, a doubleheader with the men's basketball squad, is slated for a 6 p.m. on Friday the 13th. The team needs its good-luck charm, the 12th Man in attendance—and one lucky fan will win a good-luck charm of their own, a special edition Century Tree Necklace from David Gardener's Jewelers.

Sunday's 4 p.m. game against Southern is Military Appreciation Day, with free admission for active or retired military members, and reduced-price tickets for military families. Sunday is also Aggie Athletes Involved Coat Drive, benefitting the local Twin City Mission in Bryan. Any fan bringing a new or used coat, blanket or sweater receives a ticket for free admission to the game against Southern.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 – TEXAS STATE – 6 P.M. – GOOD LUCK CHARMS ON FRIDAY THE 13TH

SPECIAL EDITION CENTURY TREE NECKLACE DRAWING
One lucky fan will win a good-luck charm of their own, a special edition Century Tree Necklace from David Gardener's Jewelers. Fans can enter to win the necklace at any of the marketing tables.

AGGIE WRANGLERS HALFTIME
The Aggie Wranglers, a student group that specializes in exhibition country and western dancing, will perform at halftime of the game Friday.

PEPSI $5,000 HALF-COURT SHOT
One lucky fan will have an opportunity to make a $5,000 half-court shot, sponsored by Pepsi, between the third and fourth quarters. Fans can enter to be selected for the half-court shot at the marketing tables during the first half.

DOUBLEHEADER WITH AGGIE MEN'S BASKETBALL
Following the women's game against Texas State, Texas A&M's men's basketball team takes on USC Upstate at 8:30 p.m. Fans with tickets to the women's game are encouraged to stay for the men's game, using their tickets as general admission seating for the second game.

Due to the men's game, lots immediately surrounding Reed Arena will charge $5 for parking, or require a men's basketball season pass. Fans with a valid TAMU permit can park at the Blue Bell Park lot free of charge as well.

HOME OPENER
This game is the home and season opener for the 2015-16 women's basketball team. The Aggies, ranked No. 13 to open the year, are 37-4 in home openers all-time and 28-13 in season openers.

KID'S COURT OPEN
Prior to the game children are invited to in "Kid's Court" inside the women's practice gym beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Kids will have the chance to shoot baskets or participate in poster making, face painting and other activities.

Kids and parents can access "Kid's Court" by entering the Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball from the arena concourse and following the signage for "Kid's Court".

STUDENTS GET IN FREE WITH SPORTS PASS
Students with a 12th Man Sports Pass receive free admission to all home regular season Texas A&M Women's Basketball games. Present your student ID at the north entrance of Reed Arena to be admitted to the game. Tickets are available for students without a 12th Man Sports pass for $4 at ticket windows.
 
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15 – SOUTHERN – 4 P.M. – MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY

ACTIVE & RETIRED MILITARY RECEIVE FREE ADMISSION
Active and retired military member receive free admission to Sunday's game. In addition, their families can buy tickets at the discounted price of $3. Fans can enter promo code "military" here to claim their tickets.

AGGIE ATHLETES INVOLVED ANNUAL COAT DRIVE
Aggie Athletes Involved (AAI) will host its annual Coat Drive, benefitting the local Twin City Mission in Bryan. Any person bringing a new or used coat, blanket or sweater will receive a game ticket for free admission to the game. AAI will have locations set up at Reed Arena at the north, east and main entrances.
