COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Coming off an impressive debut season in Aggieland, Texas A&M senior guard Danuel House has been selected to the watch list for the 2016 John R. Wooden Award, presented annually to the collegiate basketball's player of the year.

The Fresno, Texas, native emerged as one of the SEC's most explosive and consistent scorers during his first campaign at Texas A&M a year ago, garnering first team All-SEC honors after ranking fourth among all league players in scoring during conference games at 16.2 points per game. During SEC play, the 6-foot-7 guard ranked second in the league, averaging 2.7 3-pointers made per game and third in 3-point shooting at 41.1 percent

In all games, House led the Aggies and ranked ninth in the SEC by scoring 14.8 points per contest while shooting 41.7 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from 3-point range. Additionally, House scored 20 or more points in seven games last season, including three outings with 25 or more points.

House is already off to a hot start this season, scoring 35 points (17.5 points per game) while adding 10 rebounds, five assists, a block and a steal in just two games. During the team's most recent outing, a 100-58 win over Southeastern Louisiana Monday night, House scored 20 points to reach the 20-point plateau for the eighth time in his A&M career.

Already this season, House has been named First Team Preseason All-SEC by the league's coaches and media voters who cover the league, while earning a spot on the watch list for the 2016 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award.
