ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Texas A&M men's basketball team is California-bound next season as the Aggies were announced Friday as one of eight team set to participate in the 2016 DIRECTV Wooden Legacy.

The field for the annual tournament, dedicated to legendary UCLA coach John Wooden who delivered 10 national championships, includes UCLA (Pac-12). Cal State Northridge (Big West), Dayton (Atlantic 10), Nebraska (Big Ten), New Mexico (Mountain West), Portland (West Coast), Texas A&M (Southeastern) and Virginia Tech (Atlantic Coast).

Texas A&M is ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press poll while Dayton is receiving votes. A year ago, UCLA reached the "Sweet 16" and Dayton reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

The tournament will be played on Nov. 24-25 in Cal State Fullerton's Titan Gym with the final day of play on Nov. 27 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
