College Station, Texas—The Texas A&M equestrian team has moved up one spot to No. 5 in the newest National Collegiate Equestrian Association poll released Tuesday afternoon.
Â
The Aggies earned their elevated ranking after defeating defending national champion No. 4 South Carolina at home, 14-5, last Thursday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Texas A&M won or tied every discipline to run away with the team victory. An A&M rider won MVP honors in three of the four disciplines contested against the Gamecocks.
Â
Aside from Texas A&M's promotion to No. 5, there were a few other changes to the poll. After its loss to the Aggies, South Carolina fell to No.6, with Oklahoma State taking the Gamecocks' previous position at No. 4. The top three remained unchanged with Georgia at No.1 followed by Auburn (2) and Baylor (3).
Â
The Aggies will return to action on Friday, November 6th as they host the undefeated No. 2 Auburn Tigers at the Hildebrand Equine Complex at 11a.m. (CT).
