Texas A&M Volleyball No. 18 in Final Top 25 Poll

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M is No. 18 in the 2015 AVCA Division I Coaches Final Top 25 Poll, released today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. It is the Aggies' highest final ranking since 2003 when A&M was No. 16. It also marks A&M's first Top 25 final ranking since 2009 when the Aggies finished No. 21.

Texas A&M won its first conference championship in program history in 2015, capturing the Southeastern Conference title with a 16-2 record after closing out league play on a school-record 14-match win streak, which included a first-ever victory over then-defending SEC champion Florida, as well as season series sweeps against both Kentucky and Missouri. The Aggies, who were ranked as high as No. 15 during the regular season, went on to finish 24-7 overall after reaching the NCAA Championship second round, where they fell to Hawaii, which received a No. 7 final ranking.

Nebraska won its fourth national championship to finish No. 1 in the AVCA poll, and runner-up Texas is No. 2. Minnesota is No. 3, and Kansas and USC round out the top five.

At No. 8, Florida is the highest ranked team representing the SEC. Conference foes Missouri and Kentucky both dropped out of the Top 25 but still received votes and were listed 27^th and 28^th, respectively.

This marks the 13^th time A&M has been ranked in the AVCA final poll, which began in 1982. A&M's all-time highest final ranking was a No. 9 showing in 1999 after reaching NCAA regional finals for the first time.
