
Women's Basketball Falls To LSU, 80-63

BATON ROUGE, La.- The No. 12 Texas A&M women's basketball team fell 80-63 at LSU on Sunday inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Aggies (23-7, 10-6) finish the Southeastern Conference season in a tie for fourth with LSU (16-12, 10-6), marking the 10th straight year that Texas A&M has finished in their conference's top four. LSU receives the four seed in the SEC tournament via the tiebreaker.
LSU jumped out to a 34-14 lead by the 6:54 mark of the first half and never let up, even though A&M closed the deficit to 49-39 early in the second half.
Courtney Williams led the Aggies with 19 points, and was joined in double figures by Courtney Walker (12) and Khaalia Hillsman (10).
The Aggies begin the SEC Tournament in Little Rock, Ark. as the 5-seed on Thursday, March 5.
NOTES
• Texas A&M finishes tied for fourth in the SEC, marking the 10th straight year that the Aggies have finished in their conference's top four.
• The Aggies are the 5-seed in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, and get a bye to the second round of play, which starts March 5.
• Khaalia Hillsman scored in double figures for the third time in four games and fifth time this season.
• Hillsman is averaging 8.7 points and 8.4 rebounds since Feb. 8
• Courtney Williams scored in double figures for the 20th time this season and 54th time in her career
• Courtney Walker scored in double figures for the 24th time this season and 72nd time in her career
• Walker needs 17 points to tie Danielle Adams (2009-11) for eighth on A&M's all-time career scoring list.
• The Aggies are 22-8 on the season and finishes the SEC season at 10-6. LSU is 16-12 and finishes the SEC campaign at 10-6.
• Gary Blair is 694-280 in his career and 286-117 at Texas A&M. He needs six more wins to become the 15th Division I coach with 700 wins.
