
Edwards Honored for Excellence

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - Senior Leigh Edwards was recently honored as one of 56 Texas A&M students selected for Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 2015. The group was recognized last Friday as a part of Parents Weekend.
Students were selected for their contributions in leadership, service, campus activities and academic achievement that sets them apart from others as models to emulate for students at Texas A&M University and other institutions of higher education.
Edwards was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-South Region Third Team in 2014. She was a Scholar All-South Region Second Team performer in 2013. Edwards boasts a 3.68 grade-point average in political science.
The Coto de Caza, California native appeared in 99 matches during her career, including 67 starts. After moving from the midfield prior to her junior campaign, Edwards started all 52 matches at left back the last two seasons. She ended her career with five goals and 10 assists. She earned All-SEC Second Team honors in 2013.
During her four-year career she helped guide the Aggies to their first-ever College Cup appearance in 2014, two SEC regular-season titles, two SEC Tournament crowns and one Big 12 Tournament championship.
