May 08, 2015 | Softball
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M senior Rachel Fox was named to the Southeastern Conference Softball Community Service Team, the league office announced today.
Fox exemplifies the Aggie Spirit through the Texas A&M Core Value of selfless service, volunteering throughout the Bryan-College Station community with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), as an individual. The senior has donated her time and effort to Aggies Move, Hard Hats for Little Heads, Elder Aid, Aggie Pals, Best Buddies, as well as volunteering at the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Fox also created, organized and executed the Down Right Perfect game with a local Down Syndrome Awareness organization, inviting local children ages 13-18 to spend time and play softball with the team.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to her community in superior service efforts.
