COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies were selected for 11 games as part of the 2015 SEC Baseball linear television package announced on Tuesday.
The SEC Network, in its second season, is scheduled to air 75 baseball games in 2016, part of more than 90 planned across the ESPN family of networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or SEC Network). Coverage of the conference sport on national television has quadrupled since SEC Network launched last year.
In addition to those games, more than 350 matchups will be digitally exclusive SEC Network + events available on SECNetwork.com and WatchESPN.
The Maroon and White will have six games aired on the SEC Network along with four games on ESPNU and one on ESPN2.
Â
Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park, the baseball gem of the Brazos Valley, will be the launching point for five of the linear broadcasts. The SEC Network will televise two March games at Blue Bell Park, including the Thursday (March 24) and Friday (March 25) games against LSU. Two games against Vanderbilt will be aired with the Thursday (May 5) game slated for ESPNU and the Saturday (May 7) game set for SEC Network. The SEC Network will also air the Aggies' regular-season finale against Ole Miss on Saturday, May 21.
All Aggie home games not on the ESPN linear networks will be available on SEC Network + with Will Johnson and Mark Johnson on the call. SEC Network + is available through the WatchESPN app and SECNetwork.com. Fans must sign in with their credentials from a participating TV provider to access SEC Network +. The SEC Network + broadcasts at Blue Bell Park will be ESPN-quality with a full graphics package.
The Aggies will have six road games televised on the linear networks, including two games each at Florida (April 2-3), Arkansas (April 30 and May 1) and South Carolina (May 14 and 15).
Â
Currently all SEC road games not televised on the ESPN linear networks are slated to be available on SEC Network + with games produced by the home teams production units.
This year's schedule also includes five wild card selections, allowing the network the opportunity to determine the best television matchup at a later date.
Â
The 2016 schedule steps up to bat with a four-hour Bases Loaded special on the opening night of conference play, Friday, March 18. The show will feature a live compilation of seven games – all 14 teams – taking place that evening.
SEC Network and ESPN2 will conclude the regular season with comprehensive coverage of the SEC Baseball Tournament, marking the second consecutive season the entire tournament has aired on national television.
