Aggie Golfers Tee Off Spring at Sea Best Invitational

Returning to competition following its winter break, the Texas A&M men's golf team is back in action this week at the Sea Best Invitational which takes place over two days on the Dye's Valley Course of TPC at Sawgrass.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Returning to competition following its winter break, the Texas A&M men's golf team is back in action this week at the Sea Best Invitational which takes place over two days on the Dye's Valley Course of TPC at Sawgrass.
 
"We are all pretty excited to get going again," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "The guys love this facility, it's a fantastic venue with a strong field and it looks like great weather for golf. It doesn't get much better than this, let's tee it up and see what we can do."
 
Monday will see the 15-team field hit the course for 36 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. (CT). Participating in the event alongside the Aggies will be Arkansas, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Florida, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Lipscomb, McNeese State, North Carolina, North Florida, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee and USC Upstate.
 
The tournament concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes that will see a team and individual champion crowned. Last season, Texas A&M finished sixth at the event with then-freshman Cameron Champ standing out as the highest-placing Aggie on the individual leaderboard, earning a share of 15th place.
 
Champ returns to the Sunshine State this week as part of an Aggie lineup that also features seniors Adrià Arnaus, Ben Crancer and Andrew Lister as well as freshman Chandler Phillips Additionally, sophomore Andrew Paysse joins the A&M contingency and will compete as an individual.
 
The Aggies will tee off their opening round alongside golfers from Arkansas and Charleston Southern with live scoring and results found on golfstat.com as well as live updates via twitter at @aggiemensgolf.
