COLLEGE STATION, Texas – For the first time this season, Texas A&M' AJ Catanzariti was named SEC player of the week by the league office.

The sophomore paced the Aggies with a trio of wins last week over players from top-30 teams. The Pittsburgh native clinched A&M's win at No. 4 Baylor by defeating Jimmy Bendeck. The right-hander made quick work of Terrell Whitehurst to help A&M top No. 28 Florida State on Friday before finishing the week topping No. 13 South Florida's Justin Roberts on Sunday afternoon.

The All-SEC 2nd teamer also tallied a 2-0 week in doubles play. Partnering with freshman Sam Giammalva, Catanzariti topped Koby Jansen and Elliott Johnstone of UTRGV on Friday. Sunday Catanzariti played alongside Aleksandre Bakshi to shutout Jared Fellos and Mateus de Col.

Catanzariti and his teammates will take on No. 15 Columbia Friday afternoon in the first round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships at the Boars Head Club in Charlottesville, Va.
