COLLEGE STATION, Texas -Â The Texas A&M Aggies welcome the Oklahoma State Cowgirls to the friendly confines of Ellis Field on Saturday at 7 pm as the Maroon and White continue the spring schedule.
The contest will be free to spectators.
Â
Thus far, the Aggies have logged a 2-2 tie against the Houston Cougars and a 2-0 victory over the Lamar Cardinals. Jordan Hill scored both of the Aggies goals in Last Sunday's victory over Lamar. Haley Pounds has one goal and one assist in the spring. Freshman Bri Davis has added a goal.
Texas A&M returns 18 letterwinners from the 2015 campaign, including 10 of 11 starters (players who started 50 percent or more matches). The returnees account for 45 of the Aggies' 50 goals from last season, as well as all three goalkeepers. Texas A&M welcomes back All-American Mikaela Harvey, along with fellow All-SEC performer Pounds and SEC All-Freshman honorees Emily Bates and Ally Watt.
Â
The Aggies will be missing three players from the squad as rising juniors Mikaela Harvey and Stephanie Malherbe and rising sophomore Ally Watt are all off on international soccer endeavors.
The last time Texas A&M and Oklahoma State met on the pitch, the Aggies got a goal from Megan Majewski in the final minute of action to upend then-undefeated Cowgirls in the championship match of the 2011 Big 12 Tournament, 1-0. It marked the Aggies' 12th and final Big 12 title as they moved up to the SEC for the 2012 campaign.
Â
Oklahoma State returns six starters in 2016 from last year's 9-9-2 team, including All-Big 12 performers Natalie Calhoun and Courtney Dike.
Â
The Aggies finished the 2015 season ranked No. 9 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll and posted a 17-7-2 record. The Maroon and White appeared in their 21st consecutive NCAA Division I Championship, advanced to the Second Round for the 18th consecutive year, appeared in the Sweet 16 for the 14th time in program history and earned their sixth Elite Eight showing.
The contest will be free to spectators.
