COLLEGE STATION – No. 11 Texas A&M hosts Arkansas for a three-game series at the Aggie Softball Complex beginning Friday. The Aggies enter the weekend with a 27-6 (2-4 SEC) record and are looking to snap a three-game losing skid.
"It is nice to come home after we went on the road and didn't play our best," head coach Jo Evans said. "For us to come home and be comfortable amongst our fans makes a big difference for us. All three of these games are critical, so we need to come out and play the way we know how to play."
Freshman Keeli Milligan continues to lead the nation in stolen bases with 39, while hitting .384 at the top of the lineup. Sophomore Tori Vidales is hitting .409 with eight home runs and 29 RBI, while senior Cali Lanphear has eight home runs and a team-high 39 RBI. Sophomore Kristen Cuyos leads the Aggies with 10 home runs.
In the circle, freshman Samantha Show is 16-5 with a 3.33 ERA and 103 strikeouts. Show's 16 wins are the most in the SEC. Sophomore Trinity Harrington is 4-1 with a 2.45 ERA and senior Katie Marks is 7-0 with a 2.61 ERA.
Arkansas is currently 13-20 (0-6 SEC) on the season and is coming off an 11-1 loss against Missouri State. Ashley Diaz leads the offense, hitting .419 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI. Shelby Hiers is batting .337 with seven dingers and 18 RBI. Grace Moll is 9-17 in the circle with a 4.88 and 99 strikeouts in 145.0 innings pitched. Claire Clark is 4-1 with a 7.49 ERA.
Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and can be seen on SEC Network +, available through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
Saturday and Sunday's games can be seen on the SEC Network with Saturday's game scheduled for 5 p.m. and Sunday slated for 3:30 p.m.
All three games can be heard locally on KWBC 1550 AM or online at www.RadioAggieland.com.
