BIRMINGHAM – Track and field Athlete of the Week honors in the SEC included Texas A&M sophomore Ioannis Kyriazis earning the conference award for men's Field Athlete of the Week following his javelin victory during the Texas Relays.

Reaching a career best distance of 268 feet, 7 inches (81.87) on his first throw of the event made Kyriazis the eighth best collegian all-time and second on the A&M all-time list with the third best performance.

Currently the collegiate leader in the event, having surpassed the previous leading mark of 265-10 (81.03) set by Mississippi's State's Curtis Thompson, Kyriazis also ranks fifth on the 2016 world list.
