COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies welcome top-tier professional side Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) to Ellis Field for an exhibition match Friday evening. There will be no admission fee for the match which is slated to start at 7 pm.

This marks the third time the Aggies have played the dash, with the two teams meeting twice in the spring of 2014. That year the pros won a 1-0 decision at Houston Amateur Sports Park and a 3-1 final at Ellis Field.

The Aggies have played three exhibition matches this spring. The started with a 2-2 draw against the Houston Cougars and ended February with a 2-0 win against Lamar. A short-handed A&M squad, missing five starters due to international stints and injuries, dropped a 3-1 decision to Oklahoma State.

The Houston Dash are in their third season as a member of the NWSL. The Dash are gearing up for their season opener on April 16 when they host the Chicago Red Stars, featuring Aggie Alyssa Mautz. Houston is coached by former University of Tulsa, Baylor University and University of Notre Dame head coach Randy Waldrum. Waldrum won two national titles at Notre Dame. Last year, the Dash finished fifth in the NWSL with a 6-8-6 mark.

The Aggies finished the 2015 season ranked No. 9 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll and posted a 17-7-2 record. The Maroon and White appeared in their 21st consecutive NCAA Division I Championship, advanced to the Second Round for the 18th consecutive year, appeared in the Sweet 16 for the 14th time in program history and earned their sixth Elite Eight showing.
