Eight Aggies land All-SEC honors

COLLEGE STATION – Eight Aggies earned 10 All-SEC honors as voted on by the league's four head coaches, the conference announced Wednesday.
 
Sophomore Alex Desiderio was selected to the Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat All-SEC Teams. Sophomore Avery Ellis was named to the Horsemanship All-SEC Team and seniors Hannah Jechow and Logan Pluhar were voted to the Reining All-SEC Team.
 
Rachael Hake was tabbed to the Fences and Flat All-Freshman Team and is joined by Rebekah Chenelle on the Flat All-Freshman Team. Sarah Orsak was named to the Horsemanship All-Freshman Team. Senior Marlena Parker was selected to the SEC Community Service Team.
 
Desiderio led the Aggies with nine wins in Fences, while earning two MOP honors, and recorded seven wins in Flat with two MOPs. Ellis paced A&M in Horsemanship with a 10-4 mark and an MOP. Ellis holds an average score of 71.6 in the event and finished 5-3 against SEC competitors, including two wins at the SEC Championships.
 
Jechow helped lead A&M's Reining squad to a 12-3 record, while going 11-4 on the season. Jechow earned four MOP honors and went 4-2 in SEC meets. Pluhar recorded an 11-3-1 record with three MOP honors and compiled a 4-1-1 record in SEC meets and went 2-0 at the SEC Championships.
 
Hake holds a 7-5-1 record with 3 MOPs in Fences and holds a 3-1 mark in Flat. Chenelle posted a 3-1 record in Flat, including a victory at the SEC Championships. Orsak went 1-0 on the season and earned MOP honors against Kansas State.
 
Parker has volunteered to help with the student ministry at the Brazos Fellowship, and was a leader for the Jerusalem Project, working on projects throughout the community as well as spending time with underprivileged kids and volunteering at the Brazos Valley Food Bank. In addition, Parker was a group site leader for the Big Event, Texas A&M's largest community service project day. The Cumming, Ga., native volunteered at the 2015 Fall Classic Special Olympics Texas, and was a team leader for Team IMPACT.
