COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M is the No. 6 seed at the 2016 SEC Tennis Championship, which begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday at the LSU Tennis Complex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Â
The 19th-ranked Aggies (15-9, 7-6 SEC) will face the winner between No. 11 seed Missouri and No. 14 seed Alabama on Thursday at 10 a.m. The winner of Thursday's match advances to the quarterfinals to take on No. 3 seed and third-ranked Georgia, Friday at 10 a.m.

The semifinal matches are Saturday at 11 a.m., and the championship match is slated for Sunday at 11 a.m.

Florida, the defending SEC tournament champion, won the conference regular season title with a 13-0 record and is the tournament's No. 1 seed.

A&M capped the regular season with a 4-0 victory over LSU on Friday at the George P. Mitchell Center to finish in a tie with Mississippi State for sixth place in the SEC standings. A&M earned the No. 6 seed over the Bulldogs based on the Aggies' 5-2 victory over Mississippi State during the regular season.

A&M also defeated both of its possible opening-round opponents during the regular season, topping Alabama, 4-1, and beating Missouri, 7-0.

A&M reached the semifinals each of its first two years as a member of the SEC. Last year, the Aggies were the No. 3 seed and were upset by No. 6 seed LSU in the quarterfinals.
