COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M volleyball team concludes its spring offseason Saturday as the Aggies compete in the Lone Star Classic College Showcase, to be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena in Dallas.

A&M opens the exhibition tournament against North Texas at 8 a.m., and then faces Texas at 9 a.m. The Aggies conclude the tournament against Oklahoma at 11 a.m.

Admission is $5 for an adult or child pass. Children 5 years old and under are admitted free.

"Our focus has been developing our depth this spring, as four starters  from last season's SEC Championship team are on injured reserve," A&M head coach Laurie Corbelli said. "The student-athletes who have been able to train this spring have made great progress, and that will help us win more in the fall.

"I'm especially impressed with rising seniors Kaysie Shebeneck, Emily Hardesty, Victoria Arenas and Katelyn Labhart, not only with their improvements in their skills and consistency, but also in their confidence and leadership qualities.  We hope to compete hard and well on Saturday, knowing how valuable every match is in terms of experience and making us a better team."

Corbelli returns 15 players from last year's team that won the SEC championship and finished 24-7 after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship. In addition, freshmen Hollann Hans and Amanda Heller will be donning the maroon and white, having joined the team in January.

Several members on the team are from the Dallas area, including Hardesty, an outside hitter from Plano. Defensive specialist Gabby Litwin and middle blocker/opposite hitter Kaitlyn Blake both hail from Allen, although Blake will be out of action after having off-season surgery. Joining Blake on the sidelines will be SEC Player of the Year and two-time AVCA Honorable Mention All-American setter Stephanie Aiple, AVCA second-team All-American middle blocker Jazzmin Babers and Kiara McGee, and outside hitter who received AVCA All-South Region honorable mention last season.

The Aggies open the 2016 regular season August 26-27 at the North Texas Tournament in Denton, Texas.
