COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M softball team will make its 15th-consective appearance in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship as the Aggies were named the No. 2 seed in the Lafayette, La., Regional, the NCAA Division I Softball Committee announced Sunday.

Texas A&M (37-18) will face Texas (37-14) on Friday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2 while host UL-Lafayette (43-7) will square off against fourth-seeded Boston University (28-22) at 6:00 p.m on ESPNU.

The Aggies will be making their 27th appearance in at the NCAA Championships and hold a 75-58 record all-time. Under head coach Jo Evans, the Aggies have appeared in the tournament 17 times.

The winner of the Lafayette Regional will face the winner of the Norman, Okla., Regional hosted by Oklahoma in a Super Regional. The Norman Regional features Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tulsa and Wichita State.
