COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Aggies are Morgantown-bound as it was announced Tuesday that Texas A&M will travel to West Virginia during the 2017 Big 12-SEC Men's Basketball Challenge, which will be played on Jan. 28.

The fourth-annual event matches all 10 of the Big 12 members against 10 of the 14 programs from the Southeastern Conference. Each conference will host five games with the network assignments and tip times to be announced at a later date.

Seven of the 10 games will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2, one game on ESPN2 or ESPNU and two games will air on ESPNU. All 10 games will also be available via WatchESPN.

ESPN's College GameDay Covered by State Farm – the Saturday roadshow that discusses the top storylines of the college basketball season – will originate from one of the challenge games, to be announced at a later date.

A total of six participants are ranked in Eamonn Brennan's ESPN.com early preseason top 25 poll: No. 3 Kentucky, No. 4 Kansas, No. 15 West Virginia, No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 19 Texas A&M and No. 22 Iowa State.

Head coach Billy Kennedy and the Aggies are poised to return eight letterwinners from the school's banner 2015-16 squad which saw Texas A&M set a school record for wins in a season with 28, capture the program's first regular season league championship since 1986 and advance to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in program history.

The Mountaineers, meanwhile, are coming off a 26-9 campaign that saw WVU make the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in nine seasons under head coach Bob Huggins.

Texas A&M and West Virginia have met just once previously on the hardwood, a 73-66 Mountaineer win on Nov. 27, 2009, during the 76 Classic at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

This year's slate of games during the challenge also includes Texas at Georgia, Baylor at Ole Miss, Kansas at Kentucky, Florida at Oklahoma, Iowa State at Vanderbilt, Kansas State at Tennessee, Arkansas at Oklahoma State, Auburn at TCU and LSU at Texas Tech.
