TULSA, Olka. – Texas A&M Men's Tennis' Jackson Withrow and Arthur Rinderknech topped Virginia's No. 4 Ryan Shane and Luca Corinteli at the 2016 NCAA Doubles Championship on Thursday afternoon in Tulsa, Okla. Aggie senior Shane Vinsant, meanwhile, fell to No. 16 Jared Hiltzik of Illinois in the singles second round.

The singles and doubles competition is being held May 25-30 at the Case Tennis Center, hosted by the University of Tulsa.

No. 8 Rinderknech and Withrow advanced to face No. 12 Hugo Dojas and Felipe Soares of Texas Tech Friday at 3:30 p.m. (CT). The Maroon & White clad duo improved to 13-5 following Thursday's 6-2, 6-4 victory and are now a team-best 6-5 against ranked foes. The win was the highest-ranked career triumph for the tandem, having dropped a pair of matchups against top-10 foes earlier this season. In previous match-ups against the Tech doubles team, Rinderknech split a pair of matches with Dojas and Soares this fall alongside Vinsant.

Vinsant was toppled 6-4, 6-2 by Hiltzik, leaving the final singles record this season for the senior from Keller, Texas, at 23-17 and his career mark at 99-48. Vinsant made his second appearance in the singles field, having reached the Round of 16 to earn All-America honors as a sophomore.

Vinsant, No. 52 in the ITA singles rankings, recorded his highest-ranked win of the season Wednesday afternoon, by knocking off seventh-ranked Christopher Eubanks of Georgia Tech, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, in the first round of the NCAA Men's Singles Championship.
