Tori Vidales named NFCA Third Team All-American

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M sophomore Tori Vidales was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Third Team All-American, the NFCA announced Wednesday.
 
Vidales' selection marks the 37^th time a Texas A&M player has been selected to an All-American team and the 15th under head coach Jo Evans.
 
"Being an All-American has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl," Vidales said. "It is very rewarding to know that all of my hard work that I put in over the last year has paid off."
 
The La Porte, Texas native led the Aggies in batting average (.406), slugging percentage (.712), OBP (.519) and walks (40), while also hitting 14 home runs with 55 RBI. Vidales scored 56 times during the 2016 campaign, which ranks fourth all-time in program history.
 
In SEC play, Vidales hit .403 with a team-high eight home runs, including a three-home run game against Alabama, tying the SEC record for most home runs in a game.
 
Vidales also earned All-SEC Defensive Team honors after recording a .995 fielding percentage with 352 putouts, 11 assists with only two errors in her first season at first base.
