Hannah Jechow ties for third at NRHA Collegiate Reining Championships

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M's Hannah Jechow tied for third at the National Reining Horse Association's Collegiate Reining Championships on Thursday held at the State Fair Park in Oklahoma City as part of the NRHA Derby.

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M's Hannah Jechow tied for third at the National Reining Horse Association's Collegiate Reining Championships on Thursday held at the State Fair Park in Oklahoma City as part of the NRHA Derby.
 
"I was really happy with Hannah's run," head coach Tana McKay said. "She had a very smart ride and got a lot out of her horse. It was a great way to finish her college career."
 
Jechow scored a 212 on Captain Jessie, tying with Dylan Dombrowski. Blair McFarlin took first place with a score of 216.5, and Kyndall Harper was runner-up at 214.
 
The Uvalde, Texas native qualified for the event after earning first team All-America honors with a 13-5 record and four MOPs. Jechow was also named to the All-SEC Reining Team.
 
The NRHA Derby runs for one week each summer in Oklahoma City and showcases the world's best reining horses in the four to six year age range. Thousands of spectators, exhibitors, and horses attend the event each year. The Derby is one of two major events presented by the NRHA each year in Oklahoma City.
