Texas A&M’s Bratton takes third in 200 back at U.S. Olympic Trials

OMAHA, Neb. – Texas A&M sophomore Lisa Bratton placed third in the 200-meter backstroke as the Aggies closed out their participation in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Saturday at the CenturyLink Center.

 

Bratton, from Richland, Wash., logged the Aggies' third third-place finish at the Trials, which is just one place away from Olympic qualification. Bratton finished in a time of 2:08.20, just behind Maya Dirado's 2:06.90 and Missy Franklin's 2:07.89. Previously, Bratton's fellow sophomore teammate Bethany Galat had placed third in the 400 IM and the 200 breaststroke.

 

The Olympic Trials finish on Sunday with the finals of the women's 50 free and men's 1500 free.
