MINNEAPOLIS – The Texas A&M women's swimming team won the 400-meter medley relay to highlight the Aggies' day four at the U.S. Open on Friday at the University of Minnesota.
The Aggie foursome of junior Lisa Bratton, junior Franko Jonker, junior Bethany Galat and sophomore Claire Rasmus held off a hard-charging Australian squad by .06 of a second in 4:05.90.
In other action, Galat placed third in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:08.46 and Jonker was eighth in 1:09.43. Senior Sarah Gibson placed fifth in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.40 and Bratton won the 100 back consolation final in 1:01.65.
