Espinoza Added to Soccer Coaching Staff

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies have added Francisco "Frankie" Espinoza to the soccer staff as he was named volunteer assistant coach, head coach G Guerrieri announced on Tuesday.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies have added Francisco "Frankie" Espinoza to the soccer staff as he was named volunteer assistant coach, head coach G Guerrieri announced on Tuesday.
 
"Frankie is a good young coach who brings some nice energy to our program," Guerrieri said. "He gives us some new blood and he takes a lot of pride in this community. He's a great addition who will help immensely with our on-field skill instruction and he's going to really strengthen our relationship with the soccer community in Aggieland."
 
Most recently, Espinoza has worked as the director of coaching for the Aggieland Division for Texans Soccer Club. He also served as soccer coach at Jane Long M idle School in Fall 2015, while teaching Spanish at the school. He has three years of additional experience mentoring the Pride soccer club out of Wichita Falls.
 
Espinoza graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied arts and science from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls in 2015, becoming the first person in his family to graduate from college.
 
The Brenham, Texas-native played in 18 games for Midwestern State as a senior in 2010, helping lead the Mustangs to the Division II College Cup.
 
Espinoza spent two years at Newberry College in South Carolina. As a junior in 2009, he started all 19 games for the Wolves, logging one goal and two assists.
 
In 2013, Espinoza played for the Georgia Revolution of the National Premier Soccer League.
 
Espinoza was a standout at Brenham High School, playing for Coach Erik Lane. He earned all-district honors in 2003 and 2004 as he helped lead the Cubs to the state finals both seasons. After graduating from Brenham, he attended bible college while performing Young Life Ministry before beginning his collegiate soccer career.
 
Texas A&M kicks off the 2016 campaign on August 19 when they host No. 1 Florida State at Ellis Field.
