RIO DE JANIERO, Brazil – Former Texas A&M swimming standout Cammile Adams (Cypress, Texas) placed fourth in the women's 200-meter butterfly at the 2016 Olympic Games on Wednesday.
Adams, who competed for the Aggies from 2011-14, flew to a lifetime best time of 2:05.90 to finish fourth, missing a bronze medal by just .70 of a second. Adams' finish matched the highest individual Olympic finish ever by a swimmer with ties to Texas A&M women's swimming, equaling the fourth-place finish by Alia Atkinson in the 100 breaststroke at the 2012 Games.
During her illustrious Texas A&M career, Adams won six individual conference titles and earned All-America honors 10 times. She remains Texas A&M's record holder in the 200 fly and 400 IM.
