COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies travel to Stillwater for an exhibition match against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls Saturday at 7 pm.
Fans can watch video streaming at http://okstate.com/live. A Texas A&M audio broadcast will be available with David Ellis on the call at http://12thMan.com/listen.
The game serves as a final rehearsal for the Aggies prior to their season opener against the No. 1 Florida State Seminoles on Friday, August 19 at Ellis Field.
Texas A&M returns 18 letterwinners from the 2015 campaign, including 10 of 11 starters (players who started 50 percent or more matches). The returnees account for 45 of the Aggies' 50 goals from last season, as well as all three goalkeepers. Texas A&M welcomes back All-American Mikaela Harvey, along with fellow All-SEC performer Haley Pounds and SEC All-Freshman honoree Emily Bates.
The last time Texas A&M and Oklahoma State met on the pitch in an official match, the Aggies got a goal from Megan Majewski in the final minute of action to upend then-undefeated Cowgirls in the championship match of the 2011 Big 12 Tournament, 1-0. It marked the Aggies' 12th and final Big 12 title as they moved up to the SEC for the 2012 campaign.
The squads met for a spring match in March with a short-handed Aggies squad dropping a 3-1 decision. The Maroon and White had just 12 field players available for the match with Harvey, Stephanie Malherbe and Ally Watt all on international endeavors and Cienna Arrieta, Bates, Jenna Byers, Brittany Crabtree and Margaret Schmidt on the shelf for the match with injuries. The Aggies played the final five minutes with just 10 players as various players were having minor injuries treated.
Oklahoma State returns seven starters in 2016 from last year's 9-9-2 team, including All-Big 12 performers Natalie Calhoun and Courtney Dike.
The Aggies finished the 2015 season ranked No. 9 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll and posted a 17-7-2 record. The Maroon and White appeared in their 21st consecutive NCAA Division I Championship, advanced to the Second Round for the 18th consecutive year, appeared in the Sweet 16 for the 14th time in program history and earned their sixth Elite Eight showing.
