RIO DE JANEIRO – Aggie alum Simone Facey ran the lead-off leg for the Jamaica 4x100 relay during the Olympic Games as they won their semifinal heat in 41.79 seconds. They will race from lane six in the final on Friday at 8:15 p.m. (CT).

Running on the Jamaica relay with Facey were Sashalee Forbes, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Â In the final, Trinidad & Tobago will be in lane 7 and Great Britain will be in lane five. The United States, who had to qualify for the final on a re-run later in the day, will occupy lane one.

Also advancing to the final with the Nigeria sprint relay squad was Texas A&M senior Jennifer Madu, who ran third leg as the Nigerians clocked a time of 42.55 to finish behind Germany (42.18) in the second semifinal heat. Nigeria will run in lane three in the final.

Texas A&M's Lindon Victor, representing Grenada, finished 16th in the Olympic decathlon with 7,998 points. His brother, Kurt Felix, placed ninth with 8,323 points.

Aston Eaton claimed a second Olympic gold medal as he equaled the Olympic Games record with a socre of 8,893 points. Kevin Mayer of France claimed silver with a national record of 8,834 points as Canadian Damian Warner earned bronze with a tally of 8,666.

The second day of the decathlon started off with Victor running 15.74 in the 110m hurdles (762 points). Then he challenged the Olympic best ever mark of 176-5 (53.79) in the discus with an impressive toss of 174-8 (53.24) for 938 points.

A pole vault of 14-5 ¼ (4.40) earned 731 points and Victor scored 791 with a javelin throw of 208-5 (63.54). Closing out with the 1,500m in a time of 4:44.73, Victor picked up 651 points to conclude the multi-event.

Friday's action will include prelims in the 4x400 relay. Trinidad & Tobago men will run in the first semifinal at 7:10 p.m. (CT) while the Bahamas contest the second semifinal at 7:20 p.m. Deon Lendore will be part of the Trinidad relay pool while Demetrius Pinder is part of the Bahamas relay squad.
