Szeryk Is Even Par At Weather-Delayed LPGA Canadian Pacific Open

CALGARY, Alberta- Texas A&M junior Maddie Szeryk was even par through 14 holes as play was suspended due to darkness in the first day of the LPGA Canadian Pacific Open at Priddis Greens Golf Club. The LPGA event, founded in 1973, is Canada's national championship for women's golf.

CALGARY, Alberta- Texas A&M junior Maddie Szeryk was even par through 14 holes as play was suspended due to darkness in the first day of the LPGA Canadian Pacific Open at Priddis Greens Golf Club. The LPGA event, founded in 1973, is Canada's national championship for women's golf.

Szeryk only played the first 14 holes of the par 72/6,681 yard course, as her start was delayed by weather earlier in the day. She finished the day with three birdies, and ends Thursday's play tied for second among amateurs at the event. Szeryk is tied for 71st in the tournament overall.

Szeryk finishes her first round starting at 8:15 a.m. CT on Friday, then will play her second round later Friday.

Szeryk, a two-time All-SEC selection, is tied for Texas A&M's all-time career stroke average lead entering 2016-17, where she and the Aggies attempt to qualify for NCAA play for the 17th consecutive season.
