COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M sophomore Ally Watt is headed to the United States Under-20 Women's National Team's three-week training camp in September, it was recently announced by U.S. Soccer.
United States Soccer U20 WNT head coach Michelle French selected Watt as one of 20 players to train at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif., from September 1-19. During the camp, the squad will play three matches as part of the U-20 Women's NTC Invitational. The matches will be played against Brazil (9/14), England (9/16) and South Korea (9/18).
The squad is preparing for play in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup slated for November 13-December 3 in Papua New Guinea.
Watt, who is redshirting this fall, earned SEC All-Freshman Team recognition in 2015. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native played in 26 matches as a rookie, including 17 starts. She tallied seven goals on the season, including four game-winning goals. Watt also garnered SEC Tournament All-Tournament Team distinction as she helped the squad advance to its third consecutive championship match.
