The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents authorized University President Michael K. Young to negotiate and execute McCombs's contract at its meeting Thursday.

"Coach McCombs has done a tremendous job with the women's golf program, achieving success both on and off the course," said Woodward. "This extension is well-deserved, as she has led Texas A&M to become one of the top programs in the toughest conference in the country and a perennial participant in the NCAA postseason."

Texas A&M will extend McCombs' contract through the 2020-21 golf season.

"I am thrilled by the support that Scott Woodward and the entire Texas A&M administration has shown to me with this contract extension," said McCombs. "I am proud of everything that these young ladies have accomplished at Texas A&M already, and I look forward to leading this program for many years in the future."
