Aggies Open SEC Action Sunday, Play for Win 400

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies open up SEC action Sunday night when they host the LSU Tigers in a 6 pm contest at Ellis Field. In the contest, the Maroon and White will be going for the 400th win in program history.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies open up SEC action Sunday night when they host the LSU Tigers in a 6 pm contest at Ellis Field. In the contest, the Maroon and White will be going for the 400th win in program history.

 

The Aggies own a mark of 399-118-30 in their 24 years of play. All 399 wins have come with G Guerrieri at the helm. The Aggies look to become the first SEC team to reach the 400-win plateau. Florida owns a 378-99-31 mark all-time. Texas A&M and Florida are the only two SEC squads with over 300 wins.

Texas A&M enters Sunday's match with a string of three consecutive shutouts. Impressively the three shutouts have been recorded with three different backlines as Ashlynn Harryman and McKayla Paulson have missed action due to injury. Danielle Rice has recorded all three shutouts as the goalkeeper, including wins against Tulsa (2-0), Little Rock (1-0) and Illinois (2-0). The have gone 277:58 without allowing a goal. The current shutout string is the longest for Texas A&M since November of 2014 when the Maroon and White recorded four consecutive blankings, including all three matches at the SEC Tournament. The school record is seven consecutive shutouts, recorded in September 2012. The mark fell one shy of the SEC record of eight set by Georgia.

 

At the match, the athletic department will honor the brave men and women who protect and serve our communities and the country. There will be a halftime recognition of first responders and first responders may receive a special discounted ticket price.
