Making CollegeSwimming.com's elite squad were senior Sarah Gibson, juniors Lisa Bratton, Bethany Galat and Beryl Gastaldello, sophomore Sydney Pickrem and freshman Samantha Siebenaller. Selections were based on the times of both returning and incoming swimmers (through September 1st) with input from coaches and sports information contacts.

All five of the returning swimmers that were named to the All-America won Southeastern Conference relay or individual titles, as well as NCAA All-America honors in 2016. Gastaldello and Pickrem were 2016 Olympians – Gastaldello representing France and Pickrem for Team Canada. Gibson, Galat and Bratton combined to win multiple U.S. Open individual and relay titles last summer.

In other news, five current or former Texas A&M swimmers were named to the 53-woman 2016-17 USA Swimming National Team roster. Current team members Bratton (200 backstroke), Galat (200 breaststroke, 200/400 IM) and Gibson (100 butterfly) joined 2012 and 2016 Olympian Cammile Adams (200 butterfly) and 2015 NCAA 400 IM Champion Sarah Henry (200 breaststroke/400 IM) on Team USA.
