OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Junior Cameron Champ holds a share of the lead at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational as the Texas A&M men's golf team sits in second place heading into Sunday's final round.

The Aggies (280+195=575, +15) were within six stokes of the lead at the beginning of the day, but Illinois (274+280=554, -6) increased the deficit to 21 with an even par round coupled with the Aggies shooting 15-over. Texas A&M still holds the second spot among the 15-team field which includes seven top-25 teams.

"We looked pretty impressive after 15 holes, but we finished terribly," Texas A&M Head Coach J.T. Higgins said. "We were eight-over for our last three holes. We could have had a chance to make a move at Illinois, but we played our way out of that. We have to come out better tomorrow to have a good final round."

Champ (65+71=136, -4) maintained his spot atop the leaderboard by carding a solid one-over. He shares the lead with Dylan Meyer of Illinois while two other Illini trail closely behind. Champ will be searching for his first collegiate tournament win on Sunday as well as his sixth career top-ten finish.

"Cam was terrific again today," added Higgins. "Can't say enough about him. Very impressive performance to be tied for the lead against some of the best golfers in the country."

Aggie sophomore Chandler Phillips (69+73=142, +2) is tied for tenth but had a chance for an even better finish before bogeying 4 of his final five holes. Freshmen Viraj Madappa (72+75=147, +7) sits in a tie for 30th after Saturday's round. Both junior Kavan Eubank (74+76=150) and sophomore Max Miller (79-76=155, +15) shot six-over to hold ties for 47th and 68th respectively.

The team concludes play with an 8:45 a.m. tee time Sunday morning and will be paired again with Illinois and Oklahoma State. Live scoring for the final two rounds will be available at GolfStat.com. Stay tuned to 12thMan.com or follow the Aggies on Twitter (@AggieMensGolf).
