Fabrizio, Szeryk, Shoot 1-Over 73 On Last Day Of World Team Amateur

RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico- Texas A&M golfers Bianca Fabrizio and Maddie Szeryk finished the World Team Amateur Championship on Saturday, each shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round.

RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico- Texas A&M golfers Bianca Fabrizio and Maddie Szeryk finished the World Team Amateur Championship on Saturday, each shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round.

Fabrizio finished the tournament with an 8-over 296, and tied for 29th place. Szeryk was three strokes back, tying for 44th at 299 (+11).

Szeryk helped Canada to a 5-over 581 and a ninth place finish in the tournament. Fabrizio led Italy to a 12-over 588, finishing in a tie for 14th.
 
South Korea won the tournament with a 29-under 547. The top two scores from each of the 55 nations each round were used to tabulate the final team score. 

Szeryk, a two-time All-SEC selection, is tied for Texas A&M's all-time career stroke average lead entering 2016-17. Fabrizio won the SEC Championship as an individual in 2015, and ranks sixth on the Aggies' career stroke average list.
 
Fabrizio and Szeryk pick up collegiate play for the Aggies on Sept. 24 at the Schooner Fall Invite in Norman, Okla. as Texas A&M seeks to qualify for NCAA competition for the 17th consecutive season.
