MARTIN, Tenn. – The fourth-ranked Texas A&M Equestrian team hits the road to open the 2016-17 season against UT Martin Friday at 12:00 p.m. CT at the McWherter Ag Pavilion.
Â
"I am excited to get on the road as we haven't been to Martin in a while," Texas A&M head coach Tana McKay said. "We have the chance to ride a different set of horses that we have never seen before. We saw some great rides in the scrimmage, so we will see if those great rides can continue under more pressure."
Â
The Aggies, who own a 2-0 series mark against the Skyhawks, make their first trip to Martin, Tenn., since 2010 in which the Maroon and White won 14-5. Texas A&M previously defeated UT Martin, 18-2, in the 2014-15 season-opener, which tied the school record for most points scored in a meet.
Â
Assistant coach Caroline Postoak returns to her alma mater where she competed in both hunt seat events, compiling a 25-7 record in Equitation on the Flat and a 21-10 mark in Equitation over Fences with 20 Most Outstanding Player honors.
