Fabrizio Shoots 6-Under, Tied For Third After 36 Holes In Women's Golf Opener

NORMAN, Okla.- Bianca Fabrizio shot 6-under par over two rounds, and is tied for third after the two rounds of the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club.

NORMAN, Okla.- Bianca Fabrizio shot 6-under par over two rounds, and is tied for third after the first two rounds of the season-opening Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club.

Fabrizio's day was highlighted by a 5-under 66 in the second round on the par 71 / 5,901 yard course. Her 5-under second round ties for the seventh lowest round relative to par in program history, and matches her career-best. Her 36 hole total of 136 (-6) ranks in a tie for third in Texas A&M history, and marks the second time Fabrizio has shot at least 6-under through 36 holes.

Fabrizio is just one stroke off of tournament co-leaders Cheyenne Knight of Alabama and Morgane Metraux of Florida State at -7.

Maddie Szeryk shot even-par 142 over two rounds, and sits in a tie for 16th. Szeryk's day was highlighted by a 1-under second round. Andrea Jonama shot 78-76=154 (+12) to tie for 50th and Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot 73-84=157 (+15) to tie for 57th. Texas A&M freshman Courtney Dow rounded out the Aggie lineup, but withdrew.

Using just four players, the Aggies shot 293-296=589 (+21) and sits in 10th after the first day of competition. Florida State leads the tournament at 19-under par.

The Aggies tee off in the third and final round of the Schooner Fall Classic starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 25. The tournament was originally scheduled to run for three days, but has changed to a two-day format to beat impending weather.
