Texas A&M Continues Play at ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. – The Texas A&M men's tennis team completed pre-qualifying action at the 2016 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

TULSA, Okla. – The Texas A&M men's tennis team completed pre-qualifying action at the 2016 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
Pre-qualifying matches took place at the University of Tulsa's Case Center and Union High School, with qualifying matches starting Oct. 3 and main draw contests getting underway Oct. 6. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 10.
 
Freshman Hady Habib was topped by Michael Weindl of Old Dominion, while sophomore Aleksandre Bakshi saw his run in Tulsa come to an end falling 7-5, 6-2 to Robert Dula of Eastern Washington. Senior James Martell defeated Ricardo Almeida of Eastern Washington 6-2, 6-0 in the pre-qualifying consolation draw.
 
Pre-qualifying competition concluded Sunday as winners advanced to the Qualifying Draw beginning on Monday. In the qualifying draw, junior Jordi Arconada and senior Max Lunkin will begin participation in Tulsa on Monday taking on Sebastian Rey of Tulane and Josh Hagar of Notre Dame, respectively. In doubles action, Arconada and AJ Catanzariti will face Denver's Sean Huynh and Dioga Rocha, while Habib and Bakshi will face Okkie Kellerman and Daniel Santos of Tulsa.

Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive an automatic entry into the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 3-6, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
