COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Equestrian sophomore Sarah Orsak and junior Maddie Swem were named Southeastern Conference Riders of the Month, the league office announced Wednesday.

Orsak, who went 2-0 in September, opened the season with a 73.5-72.5 victory over UT Martin's Liana Nowak. In the conference opener at No. 8 South Carolina, the San Antonio native garnered her second career Most Outstanding Player honor after defeating Paige Stopperich, 74.5-73.5. Orsak helped lead the Horsemanship squad to a 3-0 shutout against the Gamecocks.

Swem compiled a perfect 2-0 record in Equitation on the Flat, registering both of her wins by an average score of 10.5. The Duxbury, Mass., native earned her first career victory at UT Martin, defeating Sydney Linter, 64-53. Swem topped South Carolina's Lizzie van der Walde, 72-62, and helped clinch the win in Columbia as the Aggies won Flat, the final event of the meet, 3-2.
