THE WOODLANDS, Texas- Texas A&M's women's golf teammates Thanya Pattamakijsakul and Maddie Szeryk tied for third, and the Aggies shot 5-under to finish fifth as a team at the Jim West Challenge.
Pattamakijsakul and Szeryk tied for third place at 9-under par 207, which ties for the second-best 54 hole total in Texas A&M history. Szeryk shot a 4-under 68 on Monday at the Carlton Woods Creekside Fazio Course, while Pattamakijsakul shot 70 on the par 72 / 6,137 yards. Both Szeryk and Pattamakijsakul shot under par in each of the three rounds of this tournament—Szeryk has shot par or better in five straight rounds overall.
The Aggies shot a 3-under 285 on Monday, marking the Aggies' fourth straight round at par or better. Texas A&M's five under par is the sixth-lowest 54-hole team score in school history.
Bianca Fabrizio shot a 2-under 70 on Monday, bringing her total to even par 216 for the tournament. Fabrizio finished in a tie for 23rd. Andrea Jonama shot a 5-over 77 and finished in a tie for 66th at 231 (+15). Callie Scheffler shot a 7-over 79 and finished the tournament tied for 68th with a 232 (+16).
Florida State won the tournament with a 24-under 840. The Seminoles' Matilda Castren won medalist honors with a 13-under 203.
The Aggies next take the course at the Alamo Invitational, Oct. 23-25 at Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, a course that the Aggies have played very well on in the past.
