Women's Golf Moves Into Second With 8-Under Second Round

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Texas A&M's women's golf team had a huge second round at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Monday, shooting a season-best 8-under 280 as a team to shoot up the leaderboard into a tie for second place. All five of the Aggies' lineup golfers shot 73-or-better, with three shooting under par.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Texas A&M's women's golf team had a huge second round at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Monday, shooting a season-best 8-under 280 as a team to shoot up the leaderboard into a tie for second place. All five of the Aggies' lineup golfers shot 73-or-better, with three shooting under par.
 
The Aggies moved from fourth to a tie for second on the leaderboard with the 8-under 280 on Monday. The round is the fifth-best in Texas A&M history; the current senior class now holds all five of the top rounds in school history. This is the 10th time that the Aggies have shot par-or-better at Briggs Ranch Golf Club since 2012.
 
Bianca Fabrizio shot a bogey-free 67 (-5) on the par 72 / 6,450 yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club, shooting up the leaderboard to rank 5th with a 36-hole score of 140 (-4). Freshman Courtney Dow had the first under-par round of her college career with a 2-under 70 in the second round, bringing her tournament total to 142 (-2), which puts her in a tie for sixth. Arkansas' Alana Uriell leads the tournament with an 11-under 133 after two rounds.
 
Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot a 1-over 73 on Monday, but is still even par for the tournament with a 144 after two rounds, tied for 14th. Maddie Szeryk shot a 1-under 71 on Monday, highlighted by a 3-under on the back nine and back-to-back birdies to close out the round. Szeryk is tied for 22nd with a 1-over 145 after two rounds.
 
Andrea Jonama had her first par-or-better round of the season on Monday, shooting an even-par 72. Jonama is tied for 55th with a 152 (+10). Callie Scheffler, competing as an individual, shot a 7-over 79, and is tied for 64th after two rounds with a 156 (+12).
 
The Aggies close out the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Tuesday, October 25.
