TULSA, Okla. – The Texas A&M men's tennis team concluded qualifying action at the 2016 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Tuesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Qualifying matches concluded Tuesday with a day off planned prior to main draw contests getting underway Thursday, Oct. 6. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 10.
Junior Jordi Arconada has a busy Tuesday in the Sooner State splitting a pair of singles matches and dropping a doubles match, alongside classmate AJ Catanzariti. Arconada began the day with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over No. 59 David Wilczynski of Stanford before bowing out of the qualifying draw with a 6-4, 6-3 setback to No. 113 Victor Pham of Columbia. In doubles action Arconada and Catanzariti fell 7-6(5), 7-6(3) to No. 28 Justin Butsch/Jordan Daigle of LSU.
In the consolation draw, senior Max Lunkin suffered a 6-3, 6-3 setback to No. 96 Harrison O'Keefe of South Carolina.
Junior Arthur Rinderknech will await his opponent in the Main Draw, set to begin on Thursday morning. The Paris, France native is ranked No. 9 in the pre-season ITA poll in singles and will partner with Lunkin in the doubles draw, the duo are ranked No. 20 in the fall doubles poll.
