Aggie volunteer assistant coaches for 2017 track and field season

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M will have four newcomers on the staff as volunteer assistant coaches, joining the three volunteer assistants who return for another season with the Aggies.

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M will have four newcomers on the staff as volunteer assistant coaches, joining the three volunteer assistants who return for another season with the Aggies.
 
Kurt Henry, Erin Simmons and Colin Slattery all return to coach with the Texas A&M track & field program in 2016-17 while Trent Edgerton, Maggie Malone and Aaron Seminski are new additions this season.
 
"We are pleased to have the volunteer assistants that we do," Texas A&M head coach Pat Henry said. "As you look at each one's background, you can see they each bring something different to the table for our team. They are dedicated people to our program that we are fortunate to have. We are more than happy to provide them with a valuable stop in their journey towards a future coaching career."

Kurt Henry

Kurt Henry is in his third year as a volunteer coach with the Texas A&M track & field program. A graduate of New Mexico, Henry served as head track and field coach at a pair of high schools in Albuquerque before joining the Aggies. Henry works with the men's sprint program.

Trent Edgerton

A graduate of Howard University, Trent Edgerton served as head coach of sprint powerhouse Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington D.C. the past three seasons. Edgerton coached Carroll to the New Balance nationals 4x100 relay title and 4x400 silver medal in June of 2016. Edgerton will help coach the women's sprinters and hurdlers this season.

Maggie Malone

Maggie Malone set a collegiate record in winning the NCAA javelin title for the Aggies as a senior this past June. She went on to win the U.S. Olympic Trials, earning a trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to represent the United States at the Olympic Games. Malone will assist with the Aggie throwers.

Aaron Seminski

Aaron Seminski, a former sprinter and graduate of the University of Arizona, previously served as an assistant coach and director of operations at Central Michigan University. Seminski has also worked with the United States Olympic Committee in Para-Athletics and most recently served with the Michael Johnson Performance Center in Dallas. Seminski will help coach the Aggie jumpers and multi-event athletes this season.

Erin Simmons

Erin Simmons returns for her fifth year as a volunteer coach for the Aggies. Simmons, a Florida State graduate, is currently pursuing a doctorate in sport nutrition and exercise physiology while also working with the track & field program. She is assisting with the Aggie jumpers and multi-event athletes while also serving program-wide in a prehab/rehab role.

Colin Slattery

Colin Slattery, now in his second season as a volunteer coach, was a middle distance runner for both the University of Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Slattery is coaching with both the men's and women's cross country teams as well as the distance program on the track.
