Texas A&M blanks Stephen F. Austin, 14-0

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M softball team defeated Stephen F. Austin, 14-0, in five innings, Saturday afternoon, at the Aggie Softball Complex.

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M softball team defeated Stephen F. Austin, 14-0, in five innings, Saturday afternoon, at the Aggie Softball Complex.
 
Sophomore Keeli Milligan led off the game with a single and advanced to second off an error by the third baseman. Sophomore Kaitlyn Alderink reached base on an error, which allowed Milligan to score. Junior Tori Vidales singled to right field, plating pinch runner, Erica Russell.
 
In the second inning, the Aggies took advantage of a pair of defensive miscues to extend their lead to 5-0. Junior Ashley Walters highlighted a seven-run third inning with a bases-clearing three-RBI double off the wall.
 
In the fourth, the Aggies added to the lead with an RBI fielder's choice by freshman Blake-Ann Fritsch and a sacrifice fly from freshman Payton McBride.
 
Junior Trinity Harrington fanned six and allowed only one base runner over four innings of work to earn her second victory of the fall. Sophomore Samantha Show closed out the game with a 1-2-3 fifth inning.
 
Texas A&M finished the fall campaign a 6-0-1 record, outscoring their opponents 62-4 with four shutouts.
 
The Aggies return to action in the Maroon and White Series beginning Tuesday at 4pm and will be free to the public at the Aggie Softball Complex.
