DALLAS- Bianca Fabrizio shot 1-under 71, helping her to the individual lead and the No. 22 Texas A&M women's golf team into second place at the Trinity Forest Invitational presented by Vic Salvino on Monday. The Aggies are just one shot off the lead entering the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Inclement weather at Trinity Forest Golf Club forced organizers to shorten the tournament to 36 holes, instead of the originally scheduled 54, cancelling the second of two rounds scheduled for Monday. Scoring was high on the par 72 / 6,236 yard course, as Fabrizio was the only golfer in the 75-person field to shoot par-or-better.
Fabrizio shot par-or-better for the eighth time in 10 rounds this season with a tournament record 1-under 71, two strokes ahead of second-place Lindsey McCurdy of host SMU.
As a team, the Aggies shot a 17-over 305, and are one stroke behind tournament leaders Michigan.
Courtney Dow is in a tie for 13th after shooting a 4-over 76, highlighted by an eagle on Hole No. 12. Maddie Szeryk had an eagle of her own, on No. 14, and is tied for 30th with a 6-over 78. Thanya Pattamakijsakul is tied for 38th with an 8-over 80 and Chloe Velasco, who made her first career appearance in the Texas A&M lineup, shot an 11-over 83 and is tied for 61st.
The Aggies tee off in their final round of the fall season at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, in a shotgun start.
