COLLEGE STATION, Texas – After making a splash on the national scene with an impressive three-game showing at the Wooden Legacy, Texas A&M's Robert Williams has been named SEC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week.

The 6-foot-9, 237-pound forward from Vivan, La., averaged 12 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks while leading the Aggies to victories over CSUN and Virginia Tech before a near upset of No. 14 UCLA during the Wooden Legacy title game. Williams shot an impressive 56 percent from the field during the tournament as well as 88.9 percent from the free throw line while averaging 19.7 minutes on the court.

Additionally, Williams led the entire tournament field with eight blocked shots while adding five assists and four steals. He hit double-digit scoring during all three games in Southern California and collected his first career double-double by setting career highs in both points (13) and rebounds (10) in the Aggies' come-from-behind victory over the Hokies during the Wooden semifinals.

Williams and his Aggie teammates return to the hardwood on Dec. 5 when they host Texas A&M Corpus Christi inside Reed Arena.
