COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M senior goalkeeper Danielle Rice earned All-South Region Second Team recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the organization announced on Friday.

Rice played all 2,048 minutes in goal for the Aggies in 2016. She ranked second in the SEC with a 0.83 goals-against average and posted eight shutouts on the season. The Westlake, Texas product did not allow a goal in 200 minutes of NCAA Championship action, logging 12 saves in the two shutouts. Her goals-against average ranks fourth on the Aggies' single-season list.

During her two-year career at Texas A&M, Rice appeared in 30 matches, including 29 starts. She finished her career with a 0.93 goals-against average and 11 shutouts.

Rice also earned All-SEC Second Team distinction following her senior campaign.

Texas A&M wrapped up the season with a 12-8-2 mark. The Maroon and White earned a bid to their 22nd consecutive NCAA Championship and advanced to the second round of the tournament for the 19th straight season.
