Texas A&M sophomore Anriel Howard was named SEC Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday, after becoming the first SEC player with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a single game since Candace Parker against LSU in 2008.

Howard had 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals against A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, helping the Aggies to an 84-55 win. In addition to becoming the first SEC player with those stats since 2008, she was the first Texas A&M player with 20+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ assists in a game since Jaynetta Saunders in 2001 against Baylor.

She helped the Aggies to a 75-67 win against TCU on Thursday, posting 11 rebounds and eight points. She had a key steal with 2:30 remaining at TCU, giving the Aggies possession after TCU had closed the margin to five points, the closest the Frogs would get in the second half.

Howard ranks second in the nation in rebounds per game, and now has eight consecutive games of 10+ rebounds. She posted her sixth double-double on Saturday, and is tied for the SEC lead.

This is Howard's first career SEC Weekly Honor. Sierra Michaelis of Missouri was the other Co-Player of the Week and Kayla Overbeck of Vanderbilt was the league's Freshman of the Week.

The Aggies return to action on Saturday, December 17 at the Campbell Center in Houston to play Southern. Tickets for that game are just $5 (cash only) at the door.
